A strong organization cannot exist without healthy employees. The everyday choices we make can help us live healthier, happier, and more fulfilling lives – both at work and at home. Pottawattamie County values you and wants to support your efforts to be well. To help you, Pottawattamie County offers a Wellness Program to you and your spouse with a variety of wellness and disease prevention initiatives to promote your personal health in mind, body, and spirit.

This wellness program is powered by the Wellness Committee which is a group of employees who are responsible for providing departmental representation on interest and priority of health and wellness related issues, programs, and services working with the employees as well as community partnerships in order to protect or promote employee health both at and outside of the workplace.

The goals of the Pottawattamie County Wellness Program are to:

  • Engage all employees and their families in our wellness program opportunities
  • Provide opportunities for all participants to learn more about their current health status.
  • Arm participants with opportunities, tools, and resources that support their efforts to maintain or improve their personal health.
  • Implement health & wellness related programs, and partnerships that are consistent with a workplace culture that values health and well-being.

An effective wellness program can make a difference in health insurance costs over time. Your participation will benefit your lifestyle and may help you save money on health care costs in the future.
