The Emergency Management Agency maintains and identification, qualification, and credentialing system that is part of the Iowa Intelligent Accountability System (IIAS). The system is a collaborative partnership between members of the Iowa Emergency Management Association and Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
The provides a recognizable and common picture id for government employees and emergency responders. The system can also be used to identify personnel qualifications for emergency and disaster response operations as well as an accountablity tool to track personnel activities for safety and disaster recovery purposes. The system is used in 64 of Iowa’s 99 counties and has a presence throughout FEMA Region 7 (IA, NE, KS, MO). This makes the system interroperable with our emergency and disaster response partners.
To apply for an identification card, download a printable form and return it to the Emergency Management Agency or fill out the electronic application below and submit.

Part of the Alert Iowa System, Pottawattamie Alert is a high-speed notification and weather warning service. This no-charge service is available to businesses and residents of Pottawattamie County and its Communities that allows public officials to warn citizens of pending emergencies, critical public information during disasters, recommended protective actions, and provides automated severe weather warnings tailored to your preferences. The system can also be used to provide other important information to communities.
