Training / Exercise

The PCEMA training & exercise program provides training to enhance core emergency management capabilities of local emergency management, fire department, law enforcement, EMS, public officials, public works, schools, hospitals, volunteers, business and industry personnel, and others in the emergency management system.Training needs are identified by assessing capabilities throughout the county. Gaps are identified and prioritized, then training is provided to address those gaps.

Traffic Incident Management System

Description: The National TIM Responder Training Program was developed by responders for responders, and designed to promote consistent training to acheive responder safety, safe/quick clearance, and interoperable communications at traffic incidents.

Interior Fire Attack

Description: Students will put their knowledge to use in the FSTB’s Mobile Fire Training unit which will simulate conditions encountered in interior structural fires. Evolutions will consist of SCBA usage, hose handling skills, communications, and basement-ground-above grade fire attack.Accountability and Incident Command principles will be used during the training evolutions.

Additional Info: Students must bring turnout gear, SCBA with spare cylinder, and their emergency responder helmet tags for accountability.Responders with beards, long sideburns, or other hairstyles that inhibit proper seal of SCBA will not be allowed to participate in SCBA required activities during training.
