The Pottawattamie County Conservation Board is announcing a hiring process to serve as the official HawkWatch Counter at Hitchcock Nature Center, Honey Creek, IA.

This position is a temporary, non-exempt position with an average of 30 hours worked per week with on-site living quarters/apartment. Generally, hours will occur between 9am and 5pm but may vary throughout the week depending on migration conditions and on volunteer availability. Work hours will include holidays, weekends and evenings. 

The position runs from September 1st until December 13th

Responsible for identifying and counting migrating raptors, preparing reports, and assisting with bird-related environmental education at the Hitchcock Nature Center. 

The position will remain open until a candidate is selected. Application review will begin 10 days after posting date, April 30, 2020.
