Summary

Thriving Families Alliance is seeking passionate individuals who have experience working with young children and new parents. The positions of Quality Supervisor will be an integral part of a growing family support system in southwest Iowa. These positions will be part of a team that provides continuous quality improvement to family support implementing the Parents As Teachers model in nine counties: Fremont, Page, Cass, Mills, Pottawattamie, Harrison, Monona, and Shelby. The successful applicants must possess a high level of integrity, accountability, and leadership to ensure young families have the supports necessary to thrive.  The 1.5 positions will supervise Family Support Professionals. A Quality Supervisor is responsible for performing a wide range of supervision functions for the Parents As Teacher program to include on-site case monitoring, reflective supervision with designated staff, necessary reporting, documentation, contract compliance, affiliate management and ensure model fidelity.

Employment will average 40 hours per week and not to exceed 80 hours in any one pay period. A part-time position will average 20 hours per week not to exceed 40 hours in any one pay period. Working hours will typically be during normal business hours of Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. This is a hybrid position with in-office and regular local travel responsibilities.

Essential Functions

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Complete, accurate and timely data completion in multiple systems.

Model fidelity and adherence.

Adequate and appropriate supervision for all designated staff.

Addressing and managing program quality standards.

Implementing continuous quality improvement practices.

Oversee the Parents As Teachers model quality standards and ensure adherence to those standards.

Reflective supervision of Family Support Workers

Case consultation and record reviews for Family Support Workers.

Essential Knowledge, Experience, and Ability

Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy.

Excellent organizational and process management skills.

Experience and knowledge in working with high-risk populations effectively.

Must have good oral and written communication skills and good math skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Ability to work independently or as a team member with minimal supervision.

Ability to interpret and understand contract language and work with a variety of contracts.

Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong ability to prioritize time, set goals and meet deadlines.

Must be able to respond quickly and resourcefully to requests.

Ability to learn online reporting systems required by various state departments.

Ability to treat co-workers, contractors, and community members courteously and without bias regardless of race, sex, age, color, national origin, religion, disability, or socio-economic status.

Must demonstrate a positive attitude and commitment to the agency’s mission and values

Essential Education, Certification, and/or Licenses

Minimum of associate degree plus three years’ experience in family support and direct service to families required. 

Bachelors degree and/or one to three years of supervision or management experience preferred. 

Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required. Proficiency in Parents As Teachers curriculum, state data systems, and other reporting formats is preferred.

Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance. Some travel will be required.
