Pottawattamie County, Iowa Beginning April 9th, access to the Pottawattamie County Courthouse Parking Lot will experience short-term limitations following the closure of a portion of 5th Avenue.

The closure will impact traffic south of the courthouse, between 6th Street and Pearl Street. The road is expected to be closed for two weeks, as construction crews connect utilities for the new community health services building at the intersection of 5th Avenue and Pearl Street. During this time, the courthouse parking lot will only be accessible from Pearl Street, which is a southbound one-way road.

Construction timelines are subject to change, but officials are hopeful the road will re-open to through traffic by April 22nd. The sidewalk on the south side of this portion of 5th Avenue will also be closed during this time, with the north side remaining open.
