Pottawattamie County is continuing to make communication with its citizens a top priority by hosting a town hall meeting in Oakland, Iowa on Thursday, April 3rd, from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. The informational discussion will take place at the Oakland Community Center located at 614 Dr. Van Zee Road, with no formal deliberation or action from the Board of Supervisors. Pottawattamie County held two similar forums in 2023 and one in 2024, providing an opportunity for residents to hear from county leaders about the latest developments across the county.
“We serve a large county, and we know it’s not always feasible for individuals to attend our weekly meetings, so we continue to do our best to engage and inform all citizens of Pottawattamie County,” said Scott Belt, Chairperson for the Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors. “We are intentional in selecting a venue that is accessible to our rural residents, a time that is outside of regular business hours, and a date that does not conflict with harvest season,” added Belt.
Several county departments will share presentations and updates from their teams and the meeting will conclude with a question-and-answer session for those in attendance.
“We know how important it is to provide numerous communication channels for the citizens of Pottawattamie County to ensure everyone has access to the information they need,” said Belt. “These town hall meetings give us the opportunity to feature the services our departments work diligently to provide and celebrate all of the things that make Pottawattamie County a great place to live, work, and play.”
