Residents in unincorporated parts of Pottawattamie County must license their dogs.

County Dog Fee Schedule

Late Penalty (after 2/14) - $10.00 per household
Lost Tag Replacement Fee - $5.00

Download and Mail

For your convenience, you may also download a copy of the County Dog License Application and mail it along with:

• Copy of your dog(s) current rabies vaccination certificate(s)
• Proof of spay/neuter, if applicable
• Check or money order for the amount due, payable to Pottawattamie County Treasurer
• Self-addressed stamped envelope

Mail your completed application(s) to the Pottawattamie County Public Health, Attn: Animal Control, 600 S. 4th St, Suite 100, Council Bluffs, IA 51503.

In-Person

Residents may also obtain their licenses in person during regular business hours at Pottawattamie County Public Health, 600 S. 4th St, Suite 100, Council Bluffs, IA 51503.
