How to renew your vehicle registration
Online
When renewing a vehicle registration online, you will need your plate number and your pin number, which can be found on your renewal notice. If your renewal notice has a “stop” on it, the vehicle registration may not qualify for online renewal. There are additional fees for paying online (see fee table below).
By Mail
Please submit checks payable to Pottawattamie County Treasurer and postmarked before the penalty and enforcement date to avoid late fees.
Payment Methods
- In office - Cash, Check or Debit/Credit Card (cards accepted for an additional fee)
- Accepted credit cards: MasterCard, Visa, Discover
- Online through iowatreasurers.org
Additional Fee: Debit Card is $2.00 flat fee, Credit Card is 2.25% of total amount due, E-Check is $0.25
