When does the Board of Supervisors meet, and what is the deadline to present items to be placed on the Board’s Agenda?

A.

The Board of Supervisors generally meets every Tuesday at 10:00 am, except on scheduled and major holidays. The deadline to submit items to be placed on the agenda is the Thursday preceding the meeting at 12:00 pm. All items to be discussed and any documents to be presented to the Board at the time of the meeting shall be either delivered in person, emailed to the Board’s Executive Assistant at Melissa.Joslin@pottcounty-ia.gov, or the request and documents can be mailed to the Board of Supervisors, 227 South 6th Street, Council Bluffs, Iowa 51501.

How long is a Board of Supervisors term?

A.

The term of office for members of the Board of Supervisors is four years. The terms are staggered with elections being held biennially. Three members are elected during one election cycle, with the remaining two members being elected the next election cycle two years later.

Does the Board of Supervisors assist with indigent burials for Pottawattamie County?

A.
