Zoning Board of Adjustment
The Zoning Board of Adjustment is a quasi-judicial board made up of five citizens appointed by the Board of Supervisors to a five-year term.
The Board of Adjustment hears requests for variances, conditional uses and appeal of administrative decisions. The Board of Adjustment decisions are final and must be appealed to District Court within 30-days of the written decision. They are governed by provisions of the Code of Iowa and the Pottawattamie County, Iowa, Code in Chapter 8.096.
The Zoning Board of Adjustment is scheduled to meet monthly when applications are submitted. The Board’s meetings are scheduled for the fourth Wednesday of the month at 5:30 p.m. in the Board of Supervisor’s Hearing Room.
